Program Coordinator – Job Posting
The Kelowna & District Safety Council (KDSC) is a dynamic non-profit organization that has been serving the residents of the Okanagan since 1980. Home to an ICBC approved Rider and Driver Training School and the Little Travellers’ Safety Village, KDSC’s mission is to provide education and training regarding a variety of safety issues. KDSC is currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Program Coordinator.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the Little Traveller’s Safety Village programming. This includes teaching children’s safety courses such as First Aid, Babysitter Training, Online Safety Smarts, Home Alone, and bicycle and pedestrian safety as well as training and overseeing additional staff teaching LTSV children’s courses. Organizing, ordering and evaluating LTSV instructor and student manuals and handouts. Hosting birthday parties and school field trips and organizing and staffing KDSC booths at community events related to children and family programs.
Administrative tasks are also a significant part of this position and consist of registering KDSC students and assisting with student paperwork, office duties such as filing, letter writing and copying, communications with students, answering telephone and in-person inquires, etc.
The Program Coordinator must enjoy working with and supervising children, and have office experience and customer service experience along with above average computer skills. The Program Coordinator will be working in a fast paced environment and therefore must be flexible and able to multi-task, detail oriented with strong organizational skills and he or she must be a self-starter with above average leadership and interpersonal skills. Minimum grade 12 education is required.
Teaching experience is preferred and experience in any of the following are assets; sales and marketing, event coordination and website experience.
Salary is negotiable, depending upon the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. Hours will vary throughout the year, with spring and summer consisting of full-time hours. The Program Coordinator must be ready, willing and able to work weekends, they must have their own vehicle and must be physically capable of moving heavy bulky items, such as the pedal cars.

You must have 3 or more years of licensed riding experience, a clean criminal record check and be at least 19 years of age.
This will be seasonal part time work.
