As a community-based registered charitable organization, the Kelowna & District Safety Council Society relies on contributions from individuals, businesses, service clubs, and foundations to deliver a wide variety of high quality safety programs for children, teens, adults, and seniors. In addition to an annual utilities grant of $4,500.00, the City of Kelowna has been a long-time supporter of KDSC’s by providing the land for our Little Travellers’ Safety Village and office and storage spaces. The ongoing support of the City of Kelowna is an invaluable part of our operations and mission.
The province of BC has awarded an annual grant of $20,000.00 to KDSC in support of our children’s safety programs since 1981…..that’s $720,000.00 in support since we opened! http://www2.gov.bc.ca/

The Army and Navy Veterans Unit 376 again gave us a very generous donation of $1,000.00 in 2017 to KDSC for our children’s safety programs. http://www.kelownaarmynavy.com/
ACT/UCT Kelowna West Council #1003 have provided $1,000. to the Little Traveller’s Safety Village in 2017 to be used for children’s safety training. We thank them for their generous ongoing support!

Halloween Haunt In-Kind Donors:
Thanks again to Domino’s Pizza for their donation of the delicious pizzas we had on hand at our annual Halloween Haunt fundraiser this year! As well as Rutland’s Dollar Store With More, to SunRype for their fruit snacks to hand out to the kids, to the Rutland Dairy Queen for the contributions to the goodie bags for the first 100 children, along with McDonald’s in Rutland, The Bulk Barn, Superstores in Kelowna AND West Kelowna and Save-On in Rutland for all their sweet candy and chocolate contributions, Tim Horton’s in Rutland, the Sugar Sweet Cake Company, the Bean Scene Coffee Works and finally Starbucks in Rutland for their coffee contributions. The Kelowna Rutland Lions Club built and donated a new RCMP building to the Little Travellers’ Safety Village in 2017. Come down and check it out- complete with a Canadian flag!
Okanagan College Collision Repair Department and their instructors, including John Euloth, Collision Repair Trades Chair, have repaired and repainted almsot every one of our little pedal cars! Thank you to the students, Instructors and John for making our little pedal cars beautiful once again! They look wonderful and your work is so appreciated!!
